OSAEI Project Repository - Project ID 6
Solid-State Starter Relay

Project status: Pre-Design Discussions. Last updated on 0000-00-00 00:00:00. File repository contains files.

Synopsis

Simple SPST switching for extreme-power (150A) loads

Full Description

The Solid-State Relay is a universal direct replacement for high-current contactor-style SPST switching devices rated for 150 amperes or less. While this project does not include normally-closed contacts, the vast majority of relay applications in the context of a vehicle only use the normally-open contacts even if the relay is constructed in a SPDT configuration. The universal design of this project allows its use with high-side or low-side switching, and the operating safety margin is well in excess of the standard fusing currents for extreme loads such as starters.
