IMPORTANT NOTE:
This project encompasses the software (program code) portion of this device. For the basic hardware needed to operate this device, please refer to the corresponding hardware-specific project.

The Integrated Security System is a universal, programmable in-vehicle anti-theft system that supports add-on modules for detecting stock key-mounted RFID transponders and RF transmitter keyfobs. Provisions for starter or fuel pump disable are provided on-device, and the device can also send "kill" commands to ECMs via communications bus.

Design Goals

This project includes the following design goals in addition to, or in substitution of, the standard project design rules for Initiative projects:

• N.O. contacts for immobilizer outputs must not be polarity-specific. Bidirectional switching is required.
• Immobilizer outputs' switched lines must be isolated.
• Current safety margin for immobilizer output must exceed 2:1 (60A minimum).
• In addition to surviving load dumps, immobilizer outputs' switched lines must survive significant back-EM spikes from breaking current flow through inductive loads.
